I'm thinking about using Fabrik instead of Phil-A-Form and am wondering a few things -
1. Does Fabrik change url addresses when generating an email using code that has been inserted in a text box when Joomla SEO is "On"?
2. For anyone that has experience with both Fabrik and PAF, which is better?
3. I'm playing around with the free version of Fabrik now before upgrading, but am stuck on a fundamental task - how does one insert an element on a form? There aren't a lot of clues...Thanks for any thoughts!
HI Michael
first of all I have to say that I've never tried phil-a-form so I can't comment on any comparison.
1) Not sure what you mean, could you expand a bit please?
2) no comment :D
3) You need to create a group to contain your elements, which is in turn attached to a form

Thanks Rob - on the first question, i wanted to see whether emails generated by Fabrik have urls truncated when joomla global SEO is on before actually testing it on Fabrik. In the meantime, I did make a form and generated an email with my global SEO on, and the url was not truncated, but another question came-up: the email was generated as a text email-is it possible to generate html emails? Thanks!
I have used them both including facile forms.
I think the thing that Fabrik has going for it is ease of use. Creating data tables with forms is a joy. Most of the common items such as
edit
delete
add
email
are all facilitated on the fly
the ability to create filter by and look up features from existing elements is very nice as well.
Facile forms is a great option, but you need some level of php or javascript programing to unleash the power.
Philiforms is a great concept, but in my opinion it suffers from a programers approach and is not user friendly.
The other thing that I like about Fabrik is that they are moving towards 1.5 compatiblility and that is a must for me.
Now if we can just connect to a MSSQL server my search will be over
