hi,
I've overwritten the files as instructed from the downloaded patch readme and I get this error below when I try to create the tables:
Fatal error: Call to a member function databaseTableExists() on a non-object in C:\xampp\htdocs\1\administrator\components\com_fab rik\admin.fabrik.php on line 522
It's a clean overwrite with no added elements or group yet.
Thanks.

Hi Rosslee,
From upgrades from Fabrik 1.03 I would suggest completely removing the previous fabrik component and admin component (Save your templates first!) and copying in the Fabrik 1.04b upgrade. I have seen a few people complain about the upgrade and I believe it's because there are conflicting files that are holdout's from the 1.03 code base.
There shouldn't be any database changes needed, that I know about anyway.

Do you mean remove the files / directories by hand and re-upload the new stuff, or actually removing the component via the Joomla 'install / remove component'?
If the latter, won't that zap all the data in the db as well?

Nice catch Hugh!
Nope, just completely remove the directories by hand from the server, after copying out custom templates.
{Joomla_home}/components/com_fabrik
{Joomla_home}/administrator/components/com_fabrik
{Joomla_home}/mambots/content/fabrik*
{Joomla_home}/mambots/search/fabrik*
{Joomla_home}/modules/mod_fabri*
Where {Joomla_home} is your base installation.
Hope that makes some sense.

Hi,
From a new install fabrik 1.0.3, I deleted folder com_fabrik from administrator/component and component.
Then I install com_fabrik_1.0.4-23-08-2007.
Now there are two install fabrik 1.0.4 in the installed component.
Tried both and still, I cannot create table view although the table was already created.
I get error.
So what I did right was:
create a group with two elements
add a form
delete the table which was automatically added
then create table view from the form view.
so far so good still testing..

Um ... I don't think you were supposed to do another component install. You were just supposed to copy the new files/folders up to the server.
We'll need to work out how to get rid of that duplicate component install.

hi,
added some more elements...check box, drop down although the default in the check box is not showing for the forms.
So far the application looks alright except for the above.
I have 3 joomla 1.0.12 installed on 3 folders, so I will try your suggestion.
I tried jaclplus but it don't work, so what I am trying to do is install 3 joomla's and accessing the same database to have ACL.

hi,
I did another install on another folder using com_fabrik_1.0.4_23-08-2007 and delete table only after form creation.
Then delete the empty elements.
It works the same as pasting over the 1.0.3 version

Sorry, I've lost track of what you are trying to achieve, and what problems you are having, where.
Can we take things one step at a time?
I'll start with:
default in the checkbox is not showing
I'll see if I can duplicate this error and get back to you.

Hi,
The default in the check box is not showing in the application.
Ok, I have a form at the front end and the radio box default is not selected.
After submitting the form, the data shows the defaulted value even tho in the form it does not show it is selected.
Thanks.
