Unwanted data manipulation

Hallo
I am observing a very strange and totally unwanted behaviour of one of my elements. This particular element is part of a list which is joined to another list via a LEFT JOIN .. "left JOIN aecb_kostenflug ON aecb_starts.Gid1 = aecb_kostenflug.gid2". As Admin I can edit the list data from the frontend. Now what happens is, that even if I haven't changed anything, once I press the Save/Send button, the content of the aecb_kostenflug.gid2 field is overwritten with the aecb_kostenflug.id content, which fully destroys the JOIN. aecb_kostenflug.gid2 is a field varchar(255) field.
Any help is highly appreciated.

BTW I am using Joomla 2.5.19 and Fabrik version 3.0.9. Thanks a lot for any help.

In a Fabrik join one of the "legs" must be a primary key (usually the id element).

Thanks a lot. I did not know that. I changed my database table so that I do not need a join.
