• Hello Fabrik Community

    Fabrik is now in the hands of the development team that brought you Fabrik for Joomla 4. We have recently transitioned the Fabrik site over to a new server and are busy trying to clean it up. We have upgraded the site to Joomla 4 and are running the latest version of Fabrik 4. We have also upgraded the Xenforo forum software to the latest version. Many of the widgets you might have been used to on the forum are no longer operational, many abandoned by the developers. We hope to bring back some of the important ones as we have time.

    Exciting times to be sure.

    The Fabrik 4.0 Official release is now available. In addition, the Fabrik codebase is now available in a public repository. See the notices about these in the announcements section

    We wish to shout out a very big Thank You to all of you who have made donations. They have really helped. But we can always use more...wink..wink..

    Also a big Thank You to those of you who have been assisting others in the forum. This takes a very big burden off of us as we work on bugs, the website and the future of Fabrik.

How to keep the layout of details view while printing?

My joomla version is 3.3.3. I'm using the last github version of Fabrik 3.1 with protostar template.
The details view of my form displays as picture 1. The layout has 4 groups with 2, 2 x 3 columns and 6 columns. However, when I print the details view in portrait from the frontend using the print or pdf command, or the google chrome navigator print command, the display of the fields becomes vertical. So I'm loosing the original display.

My questions are:
1 - how can I keep the original screen display?
2 - how can I get rid of the print and pdf icons when printing?
3 - Can I keep the original screen display and the website heading as in picture 3?
4 - currently the print has 3 pages. Can I have it in one page instead of 3 pages?

Please, can someone know how to keep the same layout as details view?

Thank you

PDF and Print button are totally different.
PDF is rendered via domPDF lib and you can define an extra PDF-layout in form (or list) settings. See http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/pdf-output/

The Print button is just using the browser print.
To get rid of URLs added to links and the Print/PDF button add custom CSS to the form/details template you are using
Code:
@media print {
    a:link:after,
    a:visited:after {
        content: '' !important;
    }
    #$form .btn {display:none}
}
But the browser is using your browser-page-setup, so if you have portrait and this is smaller than your screen the browser will reformat .

If you want a special layout (e.g. with heading) you can use additional styling in "@media print" (e.g. a background image) or you must use the PDF-button and a custom PDF template.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
