Drop Down Value with True NULLs

Is it possible to set up the default Drop Down value to write an actual NULL to the field?

I have a drop down with 5 sub options, the first of which is set to default and features a Label that says "Please Select", but what to I put in the Value field to write a NULL? I don't want it to write a string that says "NULL", I want it to be a NULL value.

I don't think you can directly.
You could add a form php and reset it.

But you can create a new list with your suboptions and use a dbjoin, it's "Please select" is defaulting to NULL.
