• Hello Fabrik Community

    Fabrik is now in the hands of the development team that brought you Fabrik for Joomla 4. We have recently transitioned the Fabrik site over to a new server and are busy trying to clean it up. We have upgraded the site to Joomla 4 and are running the latest version of Fabrik 4. We have also upgraded the Xenforo forum software to the latest version. Many of the widgets you might have been used to on the forum are no longer operational, many abandoned by the developers. We hope to bring back some of the important ones as we have time.

    Exciting times to be sure.

    The Fabrik 4.0 Official release is now available. In addition, the Fabrik codebase is now available in a public repository. See the notices about these in the announcements section

    We wish to shout out a very big Thank You to all of you who have made donations. They have really helped. But we can always use more...wink..wink..

    Also a big Thank You to those of you who have been assisting others in the forum. This takes a very big burden off of us as we work on bugs, the website and the future of Fabrik.

Filter List with AND rather than OR

Please see this list: http://www.handsontheland.org/profiles.html
For some reason it's filtering with OR. From fabrikdebug=1:

filter array
Array
(
[elementid] => Array
(
[3] => 36
[4] => 1429
[5] => 42
)

[orig_condition] => Array
(
[3] => =
[4] => =
[5] => =
)

[value] => Array
(
[3] => Bureau of Land Management
[4] => Associate Membership
[5] => AK
)

[condition] => Array
(
[3] => =
[4] => =
[5] => =
)

[join] => Array
(
[3] => OR
[4] => OR
[5] => OR
)

But if you view this list: http://www.handsontheland.org/educator-resources.html
It's filtering properly with AND. From fabrikdebug=1:

filter array

Array
(
[elementid] => Array
(
[0] => 137
[1] => 135
[2] => 153
)

[orig_condition] => Array
(
[0] => =
[1] => =
[2] => =
)

[value] => Array
(
[0] => 12
[1] => History
[2] => Print
)

[condition] => Array
(
[0] => =
[1] => =
[2] => =
)

[join] => Array
(
[0] => AND
[1] => AND
[2] => AND
)

Any idea how to get the first table to filter with the AND condition? I'm totally stumped. I have upgraded these lists all the way up through Fabrik versions, so I'm not sure if there's something left over hidden in there. The only other clue is the first list has prefilters assigned to it. But I tested that list by deleting the prefilters.

Posted this to the incorrect forum. However, I solved my problem. I had a prefilter set up in the custom menu item parameters. Changed that to an AND rather than OR and it all works fine.

I'd actually typed this yesterday ...

Do you have any filters set up on the menu link?

... but never hit Post. Glad you got it solved.

Yes, it was applying the OR in the menu prefilter to all of the list filters. Now I know.

I so rarely have any issues with Fabrik these days...still an amazing tool.

Thanks!

Maybe we should start introducing some more bugs, encourage people to take out subscriptions. :)

I do feel a twinge of guilt. :) I use the tool so much. Maybe I should subscribe again. But I'm a low-budget operation...Mostly I'm a substitute teacher these days. What I should do is write it into one of my main contracts.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
