• Hello Fabrik Community

Fabrik is now in the hands of the development team that brought you Fabrik for Joomla 4. We have recently transitioned the Fabrik site over to a new server and are busy trying to clean it up. We have upgraded the site to Joomla 4 and are running the latest version of Fabrik 4. We have also upgraded the Xenforo forum software to the latest version. Many of the widgets you might have been used to on the forum are no longer operational, many abandoned by the developers. We hope to bring back some of the important ones as we have time.

    Exciting times to be sure.

The Fabrik 4.0 Official release is now available. In addition, the Fabrik codebase is now available in a public repository. See the notices about these in the announcements section

We wish to shout out a very big Thank You to all of you who have made donations. They have really helped. But we can always use more...wink..wink..

Also a big Thank You to those of you who have been assisting others in the forum. This takes a very big burden off of us as we work on bugs, the website and the future of Fabrik.

Is possible send data from list to .doc or .html file?

Hi,

I try new issue with Joomla 3.0 and fabrik 3.1
I need send data from list1 for choosen records to editable file like .doc or at least .html.
Is possible to create any own/user template that sends some fields for choosen records to editable file?
I need just editable file not option export data to something and then import it to Microsoft Word.

There is a list.word.php view, which simply renders the list normally, but gives it a Content-type of application/vnd.ms-word, and sets the disposition to download.

As the comment in the view says:

* MS Word/Open office .doc Fabrik List view class\
* Very rough go at implementing .doc rendering based on the fact that they can read HTML

So it doesn't do any actual Word conversion, just generates HTML.

I haven't tried this for a while, just tested and found a few tweaks were needed to get it going:

https://github.com/Fabrik/fabrik/commit/b219792ccfdcf6839f576e23a61dc506f6720524

It'd probably be best to create your own template for it, although (after that github update) it will render with the standard bootstrap template.

So ... update to latest github, the just append &format=word (or ?format=word if it's the first query string arg) to your usual list URL.
