server timeout when installing ver 3.8 for joomla 3.8

Hi

when I was installing ver 3.8 for joomla 3.8, I got server timeout. it was taking so long to install.

installed with below method

1) download the package
2) unzip on your local disk
3) Using FTP upload the folder and its contents to the tmp folder, which is found in the root of the Joomla site.
4) On J! backend, use Extension Manager, install from Directory.

Yup, that would have been my suggestion. It doesn't happen very often, but on slow servers, and/or with slow networks, timeouts can happen. It's a large package, with a lot of files, so it takes a while to upload and unzip into the tmp folder ... which can cause issues with PHP's max_execution_time for scripts.
