Can dropdown and radiobutton elements be mapped with varchar data type?

Hi,

Is there any option to map the dropdown and readiobutton elements to varchar column instead of text columns. Right now in the table schema I can see these column are getting mapped to text column.

Have you tried changing the type directly in phpMyAdmin? I've done similar mods in the past, and it was just fine.

I didn't want to take any risk but yes changing the data type from phpMyAdmin did work.

Note that if you edit and save the element settings in Fabrik, it'll probably ask if you want to change the column type back to TEXT. You can Just Say No.

In general, Fabrik doesn't really care what types the columns are, as long as they do the job, but we will check the type when an element is saved on the backend.

And when changing types directly in MySQL, it is (of course) always best to test first to make sure the data is retained, and take a backup before you do it.
