Country Dropdown List

1) How can we get all countries in the fabrik dropdown list, without having to create all the dropdown fields (countries) manually?

There is the Joomla Profile Plugin which I believ already has all the countries built in.

There's also many country dropdown list HTML and other code prepared on the net.

But I have no idea how we could get them into the element?

Should we perhaps route the element somehow to the Joomla Profile Plugin?


(BTW, if I need them to register like Address, Phone etc, is it to prefer to route somehow to the Joomla Profile Plugin or just create new fields in Fabrik for these user data? I have sofar used the latter option.)


SECONDARY QUESTIONS IF (1) IS ACHIEVED...

2) If this goal is solved above with having a Country Dropdown list, how would we get the users country appear as default in the list from beginning? Some Geo location?


3) If 2 is achived above, then the country telephone code should also be switched on to the right country as well.


I also have RegularLabs Pro which has the Geo Location Plugin, that could perhaps help? But doesn't Fabrik have Geo location aswell, if that is the way to succeed?

Populate the drop-down from a database table.

You don't need to populate from a database table you can just use a databasejoin element to look up such a table.

You gave me a clue with the DB instead of HTML/PHP List.

I solved it by pasting a list of countries directly into the Country Element in the DB, where Dropdowns are handled, without separate table.

NEXT STEP:

2) USERS COUNTRY AS DEFAULT IN DROPDOWN LIST.

How would we get the users country be set and appear as DEFAULT in the dropdown list from the beginning? Geo IPLocation?

Yes. Use Default (Eval=yes) in Options and roll out your own code.
