• Hello Fabrik Community

    Fabrik is now in the hands of the development team that brought you Fabrik for Joomla 4. We have recently transitioned the Fabrik site over to a new server and are busy trying to clean it up. We have upgraded the site to Joomla 4 and are running the latest version of Fabrik 4. We have also upgraded the Xenforo forum software to the latest version. Many of the widgets you might have been used to on the forum are no longer operational, many abandoned by the developers. We hope to bring back some of the important ones as we have time.

    Exciting times to be sure.

    The Fabrik 4.0 Official release is now available. In addition, the Fabrik codebase is now available in a public repository. See the notices about these in the announcements section

    We wish to shout out a very big Thank You to all of you who have made donations. They have really helped. But we can always use more...wink..wink..

    Also a big Thank You to those of you who have been assisting others in the forum. This takes a very big burden off of us as we work on bugs, the website and the future of Fabrik.

SOLVED Hiding elements depending on fom status

Hi!

I bet people before me had such problems, but I just can't find it on the forum, so I'm really sory, if I duplicate something here.

I try to show/hide element on my form, depending on form's status - I mean if it's a new record or edit record form. I know this can be achieved with the help of form php plugin, but I have no idea how to er... call these two forms in 'php code' window.

Cheers,

Olek

You need element Javascript for that. Go to the "id" element's settings -> Javascript -> Add new.

Event: Load
If this elemenent: ==
Value: leave empty (that means new record)
Action: hide
Element/Group: choose which one to hide

And for the existing record just select "!=" in "If this element" field.

Thank you for your prompt answer. My bad - I wanted my question to be as concise as possible. I want to use form php plugin for this scenario:

1) new record = element (radio) hidden + plugin forces onBeforeProcess storing predefined value (one of radio element's options),
2) edit = element (radio) is shown with value (different than the one already stored in db) forced onLoad.

I know how to code most of it, except the part when I have to call new or edit form for my condition.

Once again, I'm sorry for the confusion.

OK, then it's another story.

In form php plugin get the rowid like that:

$myrowid= $formModel->getElementData('mytable___id');

And then do the comparing something like:

if($myrowid != "") {
is existing record, do something
etc...

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
