• Hello Fabrik Community

Fabrik is now in the hands of the development team that brought you Fabrik for Joomla 4. We have recently transitioned the Fabrik site over to a new server and are busy trying to clean it up. We have upgraded the site to Joomla 4 and are running the latest version of Fabrik 4. We have also upgraded the Xenforo forum software to the latest version. Many of the widgets you might have been used to on the forum are no longer operational, many abandoned by the developers. We hope to bring back some of the important ones as we have time.

    Exciting times to be sure.

The Fabrik 4.0 Official release is now available. In addition, the Fabrik codebase is now available in a public repository. See the notices about these in the announcements section

We wish to shout out a very big Thank You to all of you who have made donations. They have really helped. But we can always use more...wink..wink..

Also a big Thank You to those of you who have been assisting others in the forum. This takes a very big burden off of us as we work on bugs, the website and the future of Fabrik.

Comments plugin with different versions of the same list.

I would like to make different versions of the same list. I understand the best way to do this is make a copy of the list and then apply your prefilter to it. So different views of the list will exist but they will all sit on the same database table. I want to do this a few times so I can show different versions of the same list ie by status.

The issue I am having is that I want to use the comments plugin and when I make a copy of the list the comments treats it as a different list. I want the comments to follow a record regardless of which list is calling it. Is there a way to make this happen? Is there another way to have different versions/view of one parent list?

You can also stick with one single list and apply different pre-filters in multiple different menu items or modules for that same list. This way it'll be always the same list ID used.

I am not sure how to apply a pre filter anywhere else except in the list config itself. How can I apply a pre filter at menu or module level?

Edit the Joomla menu item or Joomla module for the Fabrik list.
In the menu item you have the tab "Fabrik List Options", and in the module you have the tab "Advanced". Both have a "Prefilters" button.

OK. I have figured it out. When creating a menu link there is a Fabrik list options tab which has a number of options including the option the specify a pre filter. Thanks this is what I was looking for.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
