Date field: value "0000-00-00" displayed as "30-11--0001"

Hi,
my date fields are defined as "date" format in the database. Not "datetime", the standard value is "0000-00-00".
The bootstrap forms show date fields with value "0000-00-00" as "30-11--0001".
When I save the form, the value "30-11-2001" is getting saved.
If I pick a value from the calender or write a date into the field it gets saved the correct way. Only the standard values work the wrong way in my case.
For display list and form I defined German format d-m-Y. But I get the same result when I change to Y-m-d.

In the screenshots there are three date fields:

• The element form shows definition of field "Mahnung"
• The second screenshot show Mahnungsdatum as "30-11--0001" although the value is "00-00-0000"
  When I save the form Mahnungsdatum will be saved as "30-11-2001"

I work with Joomla 3.2.2 and recently updated fabrik from 3.1RC2 to fabrik 3.1
The behavior was the same in the version 3.1RC2

Ah yes our 'null date' check was only working on the datetime field, I've added a similar check for the date field type, with this commit: https://github.com/Fabrik/fabrik/commit/ef937988762cae3e049311ec1f6bac6b17a50ef9 and the following one which gets rid of some debug code I had left trailing in there.
