Error when clicking Apply button

Hi,
I have the following settings:

- Save part-edited records set to Only logged in users
- Have Apply and Save buttons enabled
- bootstrap_tabs template used
- have several pages or group tabs
- groups set as multipage forms
- Some fields are "required" fields but aren't filled yet

When clicking Apply button before the last page or tab, error message "Validation failed" shown and data is not saved in temporary folder.

Is there a way to make the Apply button save to temp folder without validating?

Hi,

In brief: "partial saving" refers to "when going from page to page", but the form doesn't get submitted.
So, required fields are still required -- otherwise validation wouldn't make sense at all. IOW, if fields shall not be required, then don't make them required...

Thanks for the response.

I need all fields to be filled out before getting submitted.

So, as per Hugh's, instead of using the tabbed form, I will use sequential pages; validate the page (which saves it in a session table) before moving to the next... until the last page where the Submit button will finally save it.
