• Hello Fabrik Community

Fabrik is now in the hands of the development team that brought you Fabrik for Joomla 4. We have recently transitioned the Fabrik site over to a new server and are busy trying to clean it up. We have upgraded the site to Joomla 4 and are running the latest version of Fabrik 4. We have also upgraded the Xenforo forum software to the latest version. Many of the widgets you might have been used to on the forum are no longer operational, many abandoned by the developers. We hope to bring back some of the important ones as we have time.

    Exciting times to be sure.

The Fabrik 4.0 Official release is now available. In addition, the Fabrik codebase is now available in a public repository. See the notices about these in the announcements section

We wish to shout out a very big Thank You to all of you who have made donations. They have really helped. But we can always use more...wink..wink..

Also a big Thank You to those of you who have been assisting others in the forum. This takes a very big burden off of us as we work on bugs, the website and the future of Fabrik.

How to merge / move database tables to one database inside of Fabrik

Yeah, I screwed up... at least I think that I did.
I created a second database with my candidate / carrier information assuming this database could grow to be large someday.

I used Phpmyadmin and imported all of my database tables from the candidate / carrier database into the main Joomla database.

How can I, hopefully easily, update Fabrik so that it will point to these tables instead of the old tables ?

Now, the reason that I'm doing this is because, if I read correctly, one can not join data from tables from 2 different databases. If I understand this correctly, I wouldn't be able to join my user_id from the joomla database with tables from my candidate / carrier database.

Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

You've read correctly.

The simplest way is to create new lists in Fabrik. In the "Data" tab you link them to the existing tables in your Joomla DB, as described here: http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/list-edit/#data
All other settings as you need them, and that's pretty much it.

Your old lists you can delete, obviously.

(Just for the record: of course, if you're very familiar with phpMyAdmin and how Fabrik list data is stored in its own tables, you could just mod the existing lists there... but, again, if you're not entirely sure what you're doing, the simplest way is the one described above.)

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
