If in Joomla 3.5 you get "This driver is unsupported in PHP 7" try...

First time downloaded and installed Fabrik 3.4.3 to Joomla 3.5 with PHP 7. Accessing the Fabrik component gave:

"Unable to connect to the Database: This driver is unsupported in PHP 7, please use the MySQLi or PDO MySQL driver instead."

Updated to GitHub code following the directions at http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/update-from-github/ but still got the same message.

Switched Joomla 3.5 --> Global Configuration --> System Settings --> Debug System: On. Accessed Fabrik component again and got the normal Fabrik Welcome.

Turned off Joomla Debug System. Accessed Fabrik, still got the normal Fabrik Welcome. Yes!

It looks like Joomla 3.5.1 with the fix for "Switch to mysqli driver if mysql selected in PHP 7" at issues.joomla.org/tracker/joomla-cms/6442
addressed this issue. My first Fabrik 3.4.3 installation was to a dev/test site that was on Joomla 3.5.0. The Joomla 3.5.1 upgrade was released last night.

Upgraded production site to Joomla 3.5.1.

Performed new install of Fabrik 3.4.3.

Fabrik component Welcome displayed as expected.

All is well in the world.
