We tend to use mootools typeOf rather than the standard type method and the != would need to be !== for it to pass our build scripts syntax checker, but I've done both of those and committed the code to github

I'll make a note of the programming standards. I'm getting to the point where I might even feel comfortable enough to do some more serious coding.
