Pre-filter out all before date x

Hi, Newbie Q2: I want to prefilter out all records where the user has set a date field to a date prior to date x. I see many examples of how to make date x a relative date, but in my case, I want to make it a fixed date. Also, I'd ideally like to put the prefilter into a menu item configuration, and the extra line for a query doesn't appear in the prefilters section of a menu item configuration.
