Search form

Hello,

I followed the tutorial to create the search form, to no avail.

I imported a database with registrations.

I created a list from this database and Fabrik created the elements, groups and forms.

I created a new "search" form.

I have copied the "Email" element on which the search must be carried and attached to the "search" form.

I created a redirection plug-in for my form by indicating the url of my page where will be displayed the results: http://localhost/joomla/index.php/testfabrik

But I always get a blank page. More exactly nothing happens when I click on "submit.

I looked at the forum and found different information but none solves my problem.

I dont want to display a whole list because I have a lot of records and it's not readable. So I want to enter the email in a form and the corresponding record is returned with only a few fields of display that are editable.

Can someone help me?

Thank you !

Hello,
I continue my tests and I still can not :(

I followed step by step this : http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/create-a-search-form/, unsuccessful.

Reflecting on it, I think there is a logic that I did not understand.

Indeed, I have a list of data including an element mail.
I copy this element unlink and associate it with the search form, and I still have nothing going on.

But in fact I do not understand how my search on the email address could return something to me.

This element, even if it has the same name as the main list, has no link with this list. So how can he send me things back ?

I don't know if I'm clear ??? But if you can help me out, thank you in advance.

The search form is not related to your list content, the "clue" is the redirect plugin which will call your list with the filter parameters collected in the form.
http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/redirect-form-plugin/

You must set the link to your list in "Jump page", for filtering you have different options

"Use as search data" =YES (the default): form data is in session
"Append jump url with data" =YES: form data is appended to URL

and/or you can do manual URL filtering by composing the jump URL
http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/filtering-lists-tables/

But if you only want to have a filter for your email you don't need a searchform at all.

Set you email element to be a list filter (in "List view settings"/Filters) and if you don't want to show the unfiltered list set the filter to "Required" (in the element) or in the list settings ("Filters").

Hello and thank you for this answer. Sorry for the delay but the flu has been there ...

I added screenshots with the setting as attachment.

I think I need a form because I want to be able to modify the results that my query returns to me.

For example I look for the address of such member or his name and the query returns me name / firstname / address / mail / ... and I change what I want (move, change mail, ...).

But above all I want to be able to record the date and the author of the change.

Thank you for telling me again,

Mutig.

Ok, I understood the remark about the absence of obligation to go through a search form.

So I managed to display a list (already filtered because I do not need all my data) and to ensure that the golds of the modification of the email address the name of the author of the modification and today's date are saved automatically!

Thanks for your advice.

I will continue my adventure on Fabrik!
Congratulations to the Fabrik team and thank you.
