Success message behavior

Usually I prefer to use a redirect after submitting my forms, but not always.

So: I have a form with "Suppress Messages" set to "No" and no form plugins.
When I edit a record, shouldn't I have a system message with "record added/edited succesfully" displayed on top of the page?

I don't.

indeed! There was a typo in the code stopping this from working, should be fixed now
