Trying to create user profile extension

Howdy!

I am trying to create an extended user profile with address and other information. I am looking for information on how to do this. I have existing users in joomla, so when they go to the page on the menu everything is blank. I am sure this is something small. Please help me down the right path!

The way you would usually do this is have a profile form which includes a 'user' element. Then create a menu item for it, set the rowid to -1, and set the "Use key" to the name of your user element.

Hey Hugh,

Is there a good tutorial for this. I have been hacking around on my test site and am not getting anywhere productive. I am not making a good connection with the verbage of list, form, group and element and how to get a users profile to pull up correctly.
