I keep getting this error when I try to install the Fabrik 2.0 component.

It seems the library and views zip files never get uncompressed and loaded. Ideas?

Wow, I don't know how we managed to this long with that error. There is indeed an error on line 208 of ./administrator/components/com_fabrik/installation/install.fabrik.php. But as we don't check for query errors, it has been silently failing all this time (it's not a critical one, it should just create the 'created by' element on our sample calendar table.).

Do you have J!'s debug mode turned on? That would explain why your installa ctually showed the error and blew up.

Until we can create a new install ZIP (Rob has to do that on his machine), try this:

unpack the main 2.0RC4 ZIP on your local machine. Edit the file I refence above, find line 208, which look like this:

and add the closing single quote, so the end of the line looks like this:

Then, either re-ZIP it and do a normal ZIP install, or upload everything to a folder in your J! tmp dir, and do an 'install from folder'.

I did have debug turned on. Let me try this fix tomorrow and I will let you know how it goes.

Tried installing zip file after fixing line 208 and rezipping and the install still does not work on either localhost (test site) or host (production site). When do you think you will have corrected install file. Both are running the same versions of Apache, MySQL, PHP, and Joomla and meet the requirements listed in your manual. By the way debug was turned on on both sites.

Redownloaded installation package and edited install file with a different editor. DO NOT USE WINDOWS NOTEPAD SUGGEST USING SourceForge's Notepad++ (it is open source and free to download and use) so as not to corrupt file.
