Instructions on jdate element:

Remember: You can only use all jdate or all date elements on a form, do not mix the two, you will have an error.

If you were using the element before, it will be published and will simply update with this release.

If you weren't using the jdate element before, it will be installed with this release. You will need to publish it in plugins section in the backend of Joomla. And, then if you have existing date elements, you can switch them to the new element.

When creating new lists, the "default" content type will use the new jdate element, but there is now a "default (old date)", so if you want to stick with the old date element, you can select that.

If you are creating lists from existing tables, you can select which date element Fabrik should use for DATE and DATETIME fields by going to the Fabrik global settings, Elements tab, and select which Fabrik element type to use for those database fields.

NOTE: As the built in Joomla date layout no longer supports "allowed dates" (the ability to specify a range of dates to enable / disable on the calendar), the jdate element does not provide this feature. If you need "allowed dates", you will need to continue using the old date element.
