• Hello Fabrik Community

Fabrik is now in the hands of the development team that brought you Fabrik for Joomla 4. We have recently transitioned the Fabrik site over to a new server and are busy trying to clean it up. We have upgraded the site to Joomla 4 and are running the latest version of Fabrik 4. We have also upgraded the Xenforo forum software to the latest version. Many of the widgets you might have been used to on the forum are no longer operational, many abandoned by the developers. We hope to bring back some of the important ones as we have time.

    Exciting times to be sure.

The Fabrik 4.0 Official release is now available. In addition, the Fabrik codebase is now available in a public repository. See the notices about these in the announcements section

We wish to shout out a very big Thank You to all of you who have made donations. They have really helped. But we can always use more...wink..wink..

Also a big Thank You to those of you who have been assisting others in the forum. This takes a very big burden off of us as we work on bugs, the website and the future of Fabrik.

Direct URL to a sorted list?

Created a list with name of entities in different states. On our website we have a map of the country, and when clicking on one state I'd like to link to the sorted list starting with the state clicked on. For example, the list of entities in the state of Florida. How to do that?
Tks!

You can append query strings to the URL, indeed.

However, "ordering" = sorting a list, for example ascending alphabetically by state name or element value, will still result in Florida being listed somewhere in between Arizona and Iowa -- of course.
Perhaps you meant "filtering" the list, so that only the rows with state Florida will be displayed?

Either way, the Wiki shows you how to:
http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/sorting-data/
http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/filtering-lists-tables/

Tks lousyfool!
Yes, what I meant is to create a URL that will bring up the "filtered" list containing "Florida".
I read those two links. Bringing up a filtered list within the Fabrik environment is not an issue.
The latest URL I came up with is: https://www.renor.org/index.php/australia/aus-nsw?data_australia___state[value][]=NSW
Whereas:
[https://www.renor.org/index.php/australia/aus-nsw] is the article
[data_australia] is the database
[state] is the element
[NSW] is the word to filter

It gets me to the list I want, but unfiltered.
Would you be able to tell me what I need to add or delete to the URL?
It would be much appreciated!

Oh... looks like the Fabrik list is indeed embedded in a Joomla article per content plugin. Well, then it won't work as per Wiki, of course, and it'll be more complicated: e.g. with the help of RegularLabs' Sourcerer and PHP you'd need to fetch whatever query string value from the URL and insert it into a filter attribute in the content plugin shortcode. At least I imagine one should get it working that way.

Anyway, would be much simpler if the pages were Fabrik list menu items... then you could simply use those Fabrik URL queries and be good.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
