Element column overlaping

Hello.
Let's say I have a form group with 4 colums, and 7 elements.

Which is the best way to have one of the elements, overlapping one of the columns, so it can spead between two columns, as the attached image?

Custom CSS.
Or a custom form template.

You could probably override layout file /components/com_fabrik/layouts/form/fabrik-control-group.php, check the element name and use a different span class for that element. In your case span6.

Hello,
I'm currently collaborating with jo-ka in that project and I was wondering if the changes shouldn't be made in the form templates, because if I were going to update fabrik, the file you sugested making changes would be lost in the process.
In which case using a template would easier to keep track of while updating.

Custom CSS or a custom form template or a layout override won't be overridden during an update.
