Compatibility with Joomla/Fabrik 3

We have an existing internal app created in Joomla/Fabrik 3. I need to create a new interface that will be Internet visible. It will use the same data tables as the existing Joomla/Fabrik 3 app. If I build this new interface in Joomla/Fabrik 4, will I have issues sharing the same dataset? The new interface will use it's own set of Joomla tables.

Fabrik4 is for Joomla!4 only, Fabrik 3 for Joomla! 3.

Sharing simple data tables should be no problem, you can link Fabrik lists to any table in you database.

In case of joins, repeat groups, multiselect elements, user element etc. it may get complex because the have additional tables in the database containg element names, group numbers etc. resp. are using J! core tables.

You can even use different databases (e.g. one for each J! installation) and work with multiple Fabrik connections.
But this is only recommended for connecting to very simple data structures because you can't have joins between those connections and not all features are supported.
