File upload element - AJAX issue

I'm bumping a problem that someone noted on here a couple of years ago, which is still unresolved.

In the file upload element, you can only select subfolder options if the AJAX upload is turned off. This is causing me an issue as I would like to upload 4-5 image files per record into their own subfolder. The subfolder would then be referred to by the ARI Imageslider module, to drop the images into the article.

Is there any timeframe for this being fixed?

Well, it's not really a case of "fixing" it. That feature isn't "broken", it simply doesn't apply to AJAX uploads.

So as with all new features moving forward, we're using the 80% rule ... if it's something we think 80% or more of our users would find useful, we try and fit it in the roadmap. If we don't think it meets the 80% rule, it'll get added when someone who wants it funds the work. And this isn't something that many users need.
