Problem with record edit permissions

Hello. I'm using J!3.9.19 an F!3.9.2 updated from Github.

I have one list (mapped from an ERP system), joined with another table, where I store the user Joomla ID, in order to make some validations.

One of these validations, is to allow only the logged on user to edit or delete his own records.
I then select the list Access settings and set the Edit records field, to use the Joomla ID stored on that second list, so only the user can edit his own records.

It's working for deletion but not working for editing.

The menu link is filtering the user records also, because the users of this group can only see their own records, but the "chiefs" can see all the records, although they must not change or delete the users records.

What am I doing wrong? Is there something I can do to overcome this?

Thanks in advance.

The edit/delete difference sounds strange, are you sure?

In principle: ALL users (not guests) are "Registered" (at least as long as you didn't change the default Joomla group/accesslevel structure totally).
So setting xy = Registered + or use field=some_userId should not make any difference because already any logged in user can do xy.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
