• Hello Fabrik Community

    Fabrik is now in the hands of the development team that brought you Fabrik for Joomla 4. We have recently transitioned the Fabrik site over to a new server and are busy trying to clean it up. We have upgraded the site to Joomla 4 and are running the latest version of Fabrik 4. We have also upgraded the Xenforo forum software to the latest version. Many of the widgets you might have been used to on the forum are no longer operational, many abandoned by the developers. We hope to bring back some of the important ones as we have time.

    Exciting times to be sure.

    The Fabrik 4.0 Official release is now available. In addition, the Fabrik codebase is now available in a public repository. See the notices about these in the announcements section

    We wish to shout out a very big Thank You to all of you who have made donations. They have really helped. But we can always use more...wink..wink..

    Also a big Thank You to those of you who have been assisting others in the forum. This takes a very big burden off of us as we work on bugs, the website and the future of Fabrik.

Save user Name and email as values in a database join field

I have a table that gets the value of one field from the UserID in Joomla xfco_specialists___spec_name

It is storing the id number in the datatable rather than the value

Then I am trying to get that value from that table in another table via a database join and all I get is the value

Is there some way to store the user Name and Email (2 different fields) in the first table as values not id numbers using the User element or do i need to do a calc element here in stead

That way when I look for the name in the second table, i see the name not the user ID

Thanks

HI Natlegal

No, this was a different question, it was asking about using the userid element was returning a number value in the database so joining it in the next table didn't work, however, I worked it out by using a standard field and putting eval code in the default section

Thanks for replying though

May be so
Plagin element - field
In the Default field for email- {$ my-> email}
for the user - {$ my-> username} or {$ my-> name}
Read only - Yes

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
