Pre-filters are set on lists (in list settings or Fabrik list menu options).

This is Joomla, not Fabrik.

You need a Fabrik list to work with pre-filters.
Fabrik doesn't support Joomla's "Custom fields" because they are no database table columns.

You can create a Fabrik list with all custom elements you need and use the juser form plugin to synchronize with Joomla users (but without Joomla custom fields).
