• Hello Fabrik Community

Fabrik is now in the hands of the development team that brought you Fabrik for Joomla 4. We have recently transitioned the Fabrik site over to a new server and are busy trying to clean it up. We have upgraded the site to Joomla 4 and are running the latest version of Fabrik 4. We have also upgraded the Xenforo forum software to the latest version. Many of the widgets you might have been used to on the forum are no longer operational, many abandoned by the developers. We hope to bring back some of the important ones as we have time.

    Exciting times to be sure.

The Fabrik 4.0 Official release is now available. In addition, the Fabrik codebase is now available in a public repository. See the notices about these in the announcements section

We wish to shout out a very big Thank You to all of you who have made donations. They have really helped. But we can always use more...wink..wink..

Also a big Thank You to those of you who have been assisting others in the forum. This takes a very big burden off of us as we work on bugs, the website and the future of Fabrik.

Upgraded from 1.0.4 to 1.0.5.2 using zip - tables, forms, elements and groups gone!

We updated out installation last night using the zip/patch and immediately saw that our fabrik forms, tables, elements and groups were gone. I then searched posts and saw that you recommend using the SVN - so we updated again using the SVN build. unfortunately all our info was still missing. We can connect directly to the DB and see the info in MySQL but it is missing from the Fabrik frontend/backend.

Any ideas?

It sounds like you must have run a Joomla uninstall on Fabrik at some point?

Uninstalling Fabrik is the only way the Fabrik metadata tables would have been wiped. It'll leave the data tables, but remove Fabrik itself (i.e. all the element, form and group info).

Do you have a backup of your database from before you tried upgrading?

I suppose someone else may have tried an uninstall, but when I asked no one confessed to having done so... One additional item that may be causing issues - we did clone the site from one server to another, but no Fabrik items were created until AFTER the cloning.

The metadata tables are still present, they are just empty (not even sample data or stock validation rules.) Very strange :/

Guess we'll have to rebuild.

Sorry about that. Basically, you never uninstall Fabrik. When you want to upgrade, you just ftp the content of the patch ZIP (or the latest SVN) up to your server, overwriting the existing component files.

Cloning won't have made any difference ... there's nothing in Fabrik which cares what site it is on, it just uses Joomla's standard config values for things like db connections, hostname, etc.

minor correction - you may have to update the fabrik connection if you change sites.

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
