Custom list template not loading opening modal box (popup)

Have created a custom template and we need to adopt things in that, also css. But the custom_css from new custom template is not loaded opening the popup box. So I cant style it. Any solution? We don't want to touch the "mother" page css.
Of course the new template is used issuing command from menu system. But we cant use that.

How do you display this list, where do you define the Fabrik template?

What do u call files in com_fabrik/views/list/tmpl/ ? And in list definition this word "frontend template" is used.
We have created a copy of bootstrap folder to use for a special report layout (SRL) apart from "normal" lists and forms layouts.
The "mother" list in question with a standard layout has 3 related data sets. One of these sets links to records in the report with the special layout. When using the link, defined to display a popup box, the box shows up but not displaying data according to the frontend-template set for the list . When debugging the page there is no custom_css file from the SRL.
