When I change the element access details view to a view level not accredited for the user, then it disables the filter dropdown and takes it from the list view.
So you can never have a scenario where you have disabled an element from details view, YET still want to have the element available for filter in the list view.
I know you will say your argument is that if there is no detail view, then why show it in list, but often you want to manipulate list data on that element, yet dont want to show it in details view.
In my instance, that element is pre-populated and controlled by fabrik, so dont need to show in details view,
