google map element set address

Hello everyone,

I am having difficulties at setting up the address in the Geocoding tab of the googlemap element plugin.


The settings I have are the following:

ENABLE geocode: YES

Address 1: Address

The problem is that my address field only contains the street and the street number while other information about the address can be found in other fields:

I tried to also enter in the fields:

City: My city

state / region: my region

etc ...


However, if I do not enter the city in the field chosen as address 1, it does not work.

What do I get wrong?

It's working on my site.

Keep in mind that Google is geocoding "as you type".

So if your address1 is the first field which is filled and it contains e.g. a street Google will try to geocode this street in whatever city Google finds first.
If you afterwards add a city in your city field Google will search this "string" near the place it has already geocoded.

You can try this behaviour directly in maps.google.com: e.g. type "champs elysee", ENTER -> Google will show you Paris; now add ", Berlin" in the search field -> Google won't show the city Berlin but still some point in Paris.

So make sure that the first field your user is filling is the city.
