modify list view to use multiple rows

Hello,
I am trying to get a list view individual listing to occupy more than 1 row. In other words I want to have things laid out with images floating, and text wrapping and hearer text at the top, not in a table row format. It seems the views>list>tmpl contains template folders called bootstrap and a second one called div. The one called div would seem to give me <div> rather than <tr> and <td> to work with in the list view. Am I understanding this right? I selected this template in list>layout but I still get a table.
Thanks in advance.

Make sure you are viewing the list in the correct place. You can view lists in the backend and frontend, if you changed the template to DIV for the first option, "Front-end template", you will still see table format in the backend.

The DIV template should work, I literally used it last night.

Is this a direct link to the list or are you using the content plugin?

If this is a men u link can you try setting the template in the menu options.

Holy Cow! All this time and I never knew that setting was in Menu options.
Yes the menu item options needed to be set to the div template. Thanks so much!

I can never remember which one takes priority, whether it's menu or list settings. I guess it's menu then! :)

We are in need of some funding.
More details.

Thank you.
