Strange behavior upon trying to Edit record

I have a form where in List view, the links are there for each field that is set to being editable by the Registered user.

But when the Registered user clicks on ANY of the editable field links, he is taken to a BLANK form to enter a NEW record - instead of one where he can edit the record that's already there!

I'm sure this is a simple thing, but I can't seem to find what I am doing wrong...

Is the primary key element (usually id) published, writable?

I assume this issue is the same as the one in your other thread.

Thanks. It turned out that the db table was somehow corrupted when someone working with me managed to mangle the primary ID. I just reloaded yesterday's version from backup and fixed it.
