Option to let User Rotate Images

I've got a list with an image-element. By clicking on the thumbnail the image is shown in the lightbox.
Is there an option (or could someone implement it ... i cant ;-) ) to let the user rotate the image in this lightbox (Buttons "rotate 90? cw / ccw")?

These buttons should not have any effect on the stored image; it's just an "front-end-option" for the users.

This option would be welcome now that the image element supports Device Capture: Camera. Pictures that are taken in portrait view are saved as landscape. If users can rotate the image or thumb afterwards, this would solve the problem. I do see a GD2 class for image rotation: http://fabrikar.com/docs/classes/FabimageGD2.html but I do not know how to implement this.
