Wrong column layout in form?

Looks to me like 5, 7 and 8 column layout adds an extra empty column (tested 1-8).

No, that's the bootstrap grid.
It's parts of 12, so 5 columns with equal width only take 10/12 etc.

And if you want to have the full width used you can add in the next field (columns widths) for example 2, 2, 2, 3, 3 which will result in 12 ( bootstap grid numbers)
