Automatic Notification by: zip code or radius.

Hello,
may you help me to know if it is it possible to realize tall of the features for this web site project with the Fabrik free features or not:
? many users join and register their account with their zip code and city
? the users of the same city are allowed to set receiving a notification with these options:
1. by zip code;
2. by radius: 5 miles or 10 miles from the user's address;
3. by entire user city.
? there is a list of events; every event may be inserted by any user;
the point is that every new event inserted by any user has to be notified to the right users: the ones involved by the notification settings they set up).
Is there a way to do the above with your extensions?
Thank you.

This all sounds doable with Fabrik but it will require some custom coding to go with the basic setup. A subscription is recommended for help with putting it together.

The wiki is your friend! http://fabrikar.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

There is an Email Form plugin that can be set up to email users based on specified conditions when the form is submitted: http://fabrikar.com/wiki/index.php/Form_plugin_email

City and zip code can just be matched. A radius condition is tougher but there is a radius search list plugin filter that you could probably copy and adapt the code from.

Thank you indeed for your interest. I see there are a lot of "things" in the wiki. I miss the time to check if there is something that do the job.
From my experience and perspective I think Fabrik may fullfill the side related to the list: inserting an item and so on.
The email form plugin from the web page does not allow to set conditions; the condition field is a flag field!
Here is how the web site has to work:

Your dog is lost - You can search the Found Dogs listings for your dog based on his characteristics (Breed, Color, etc) as well as in your Postal Code area. If you find your dog in the listings you can use the form on his profile to send a message to the person who found your dog. If you do not find your dog in the listings you can register your lost dog so that he shows up in the Lost Dogs listings so that you may be contacted.

Thank you.

Email form plugin:
In the condition field you can insert any php code to determine if the email should be sent or not (return true or false).
In the Email to(eval) you can insert any php code to determine the email adresses (e.g. return all email addresses from registered dogs where at least 3 characteritics are matching; you'll need some php and MySQL knowledge)

An other way would be the php form plugin where you are totally free to collect and send via your own php script.

Hello,
may be the function needed for this project may be useful for many other Fabrik users; then instead of coding PHP to get the job done a may be better a customized plugin.
Try to think to a group of users distributed by zip code and distance as in the case above. On the other side there may be a group of stores which needs to send notification on deals available to potential customers in delimeted area.
I'd like to get the opinion of the developers group. :)
Thank you.

Hello,

the developers here may do that' If yes who to contact?

Thank you.

Hello Troester:

Would you consider implementing the coding needed in Cypherinfo's email above it is the final piece of the puzzle we need to move the project forward and complete the back end.
I look forward to hearing from you -
