Cascading dropdown does not work in Frontend

Hi,

I have a very strange issue. My form with cascading dropdown works perfectly in administrator back end. But does not work in front end. I even logged in the front end using the administrator password, still does not work. In back end, as soon as the form is displayed a spinning circle appears next to the cascading dropdown element and when i change the watch element value, it populates the casecasding dropdown values correctly. But in front end, no values appear in the cascading drop down field.

Am I missing something very basic?

I have a very similar issue.

CDD works in backend but page gives a 500 error when viewed from front end.

Which browser, which Joomla template?
Did you try with a standard Joomla template (e.g. beez_20)?
Can you see any JS errors?

I created another group of tables as a test and the issue for me is now resolved. Guess I have some debugging to do.

Hmmnnn. I checked and rechecked and there was definitely something strange going on. All of the setting were correct but the CDD would not work on front page.

I had the CDD on a linked form that was part of a one-to-many relationship. The only way I could fix it was to delete the linked form and join and then recreate them.

Now it works.
