Documentation Fabrik Webservice?

Hi,

For my Joomla (3.3) application I need to develop a webservice which retrieves some data from a particular website and which must store this data is a table (list).

I upgraded Fabrik from github and noticed Fabrik has a Webservice plugin for lists - http://fabrikar.com/forums/index.php?wiki/webservice-list-plugin/.

What precisely can you do with this plugin? Apart from the tutorial http://fabrikar.com/help/tutorials/details/3/29 is there any wiki documentation?

I don't believe there is any WIKI documentation as yet and I haven't begun to start documenting plugins yet myself.

I haven't used this plugin but from what I can gather it should, (if it still works), do what you need to do.

You can always use cron jobs for these type of things as well. A scheduled PHP script can be used to import data is that's a preferred route.

'if it still works'? that doesnt sound promising. Why would the developed code not work anymore?

Generally we know about any problems with all the common elements and plugins as people are using them all the time.

Something like the web service plugin, (as an example), may have been created specifically for a client or it may be user contributed code so may not be in common use. So we don't always know if PHP versions, mysql versions levels or Joomla upgrades have caused it to break.

I am slowly building a website which aims to test all these functions via a cron job but it's slow progress.
