Formatting of databasejoin items

Hi all,

Is there any way I can display images or format dbjoin dropdownlist items?

I tried to pass formatted html into the concat label option, but it strips out all html.

I even tried to do a simple name, '<STRONG>surname</STRONG>' but it strips it out all html.

I would really like to be able to do this. Changing dropdown items using firebug works, which means the script will work.
