Googlemaps plugin automatic location not working on Joomla 3

I have been using the automatic location feature of the Googlemaps plugin using Joomla 2.5 and it works perfectly. However, that feature stopped working on Joomla 3 (and I am always getting the location of the UK). Is there a workaround for this?

I shifted to Joomla 3 because I needed the Digital Signature plugin.

There seems to be a bug.
Default location = user location is working, if you set "Enable geocoding"=yes (in tab Geocoding).

But this will display an additional field and button above the googlemap which is not necessarily wanted.
