How to create standard letter from list

Hi - some advice would be appreciated

fab 3.6 - Joomla 3.7

I have list of students who have registered for different courses. The form has four groups. I would like to be able to print a standard letter from the list view which gets sent to the student with their course materials.
The letter will be addressed to them (register_studentname) and contain their address (address1,2,3,4) and then provide the specific details of the course they have registered for such as date, times, and location etc.

How do I accomplish this?

What do you want to get? PDFs?
How do you want to select the students?
1. via list filtering (then you can use list's PDF button)
2. via checking arbitrary rows in your list (there's a download list plugin which will create a zip of PDFs)

In both cases you need a custom template showing the infos the way you need and selected as PDF (list or form) template
in case 1. a list template (start with the div template)
in case 2. a details template
