Icon instead of thumbnail for PDF in list view

Hi all.

After spending quite some googling time I might as well throw the question I have to you folks.

I try to have a list showing thumbnails of uploaded photos which works as it should. But if a user instead upload a PDF the icon that is shown is broken as in attached image.

So, how do i do to make a PDF-icon to show instead of the broken picture?

Perhaps you don't have ImageMagick in your server. With IM it should create thumbs from pdf, at least it was so when this feature was added

Ah, and I don't have permission to install it either. But I guess it should be possible to have a script publishing an icon when the file is a .pdf?

Are you looking for PDF thumbnails (i.e. an individual image showing the PDF content) or just the PDF icon?

Icon should show but there's a bug:
<img src=... is using the file path instead of the URL

PDF thumbnail would serve, but since I didn't think that worked an icon is sufficient. Any solution goes...

And if I want the thumbnail ImageMagick probably is the villain?

ImageMagick and also GhostScript would be needed
