Is it possible to send the static map from the google maps element in an email?

I'm using the google maps element in a list and also the email plugin. When trying to send an email with a static map, the map doesn't come across. Is there something specific that needs to be done to have the static map be sent over in the email?

Strange, it wasn't working before and it just had an output of "static map" even though all of the other images were showing. Now upon some more test emails the static maps are coming through as images. No idea what changed the behavior but it's working as intended now.

I'll close the thread.
