Not empty PHP code for element

Hello,
Does anyone know the PHP code to put into the condition field of an element in order for the user to get the message alert "Field is required" when he wants to send the form with the empty field ?

You can use the validation tab in element.
Fabrik > Elements > Validations
Button Add
Choose "notempty" as action.
Then you will see the options to set the tips and error message.

Thank you for your reply. Apologies for the delay to get back.I do not understand as when I have done it today, now it is working fine, eventhough I did not do it otherwise. Thank you very much for your help.
