Sort order of a repeat group

Is there any way of specifying a field to sort and the sort order of a repeat group in a form? I have been banging my head against this one for a while and can't find a solution. Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Set "Order by" in list settings (Data tab).
The first "order by" element must be an element of your main list (e.g. id, otherwise it won't merge the records in list view correctly), then add your repeat group element.
