Text area text display in record detail

I have a simple form that allows special level users to input data and registered users can see these records through a table view and view the details of each record which shows images and a link to a audio file download. Works great, but the text field squeezes the text to be just 3-4 words across and then wraps to the next line leaving me with a really tall thin paragraph of text. Is there s simple way I can get this to use more of the available space on the page to properly display this text?

Have you fired up Firefox with Firebug, and looked at the CSS styling?

I'm not 100% sure from your description, but it sounds like something you can fix by tweaking the template CSS.

Can you point me at the page?

also what is the element's 'width' option set to? If its a small number try increasing it

I used Firebug and adjusted the view template.css for "form" and found the readonly entry had a set width of 100px. I adjusted this to 500 and it looks good. I will look at this again with the option Rob suggested shortly, but this is great for my meeting later today to show this off.
