Content plugin filter asc/desc

Hi

Sorry if this is a basic question but I can not find the answer in the wiki or elsewhere. I am trying to order a list in a content plugin by either asc/desc values but cannot work out how to do this (it seems like it should be easy).

I have filtered the list on a url like this:

?&orderby=obj_table___test&orderdir=asc

but cannot replicate the same on a content plugin list?

Usually the params working in URL should also do in the content plugin (without &)
